Night and Day Helicopter Tours

Both day and night Las Vegas helicopter tours have their perks. One shows the desert’s colors in the natural sunlight and the other gives tourists the best view of a lit-up Sin City during the town’s witching hours.

Night trips are usually short and take tourists on a tour over Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as the Strip, and downtown Fremont Street. They’re best known for giving tourists the best possible view of all the magnificently lit hotels and flashing neon lights.

While most night tours only last about 15 minutes, they’re a great way to start off the night and a memorable way to take in Las Vegas in all its glory. Not to mention, it’s much less effort and 10 times quicker than walking up and down the Strip to see all the attractions.

Nighttime Las Vegas helicopter tours can depart as early as 6 p.m. or as late as 10 p.m. Some companies may give tours later in the evening and others offer nightly tours from 6-8 p.m. every night. Some tour companies will offer night flight packages with a champagne toast and photograph. An average night tour is around $70 a person and usually up to six can fly in a helicopter.

Day tours last a bit longer and are a little more expensive. Short day tours over Las Vegas last about 20 minutes and are around $80 a person. Tours through the Grand Canyon, over the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and Area 51 are also popular among tourists.

Those helicopter tours are a couple hours long and cost anywhere from $100 to $180 a person.

If you’re stumped and have to make a decision, we’d recommend taking a night trip for a tour over the Strip, which is prettiest when illuminating the dark desert sky. That’s surely the best bang for your buck. If it’s an option, though, save your pennies and take a day tour through the Grand Canyon and leisurely experience the beautiful rock formations and colors at a low altitude.

While a night flight over the Strip will give tourists a bird’s-eye view of the city’s millions twinkling lights, day tours can be just as exciting with a close up experience of the desert’s natural attractions.

Either way you like it, a Las Vegas helicopter tour is a great way to take in the sites before hitting the casinos. Helicopter tours are just one more exciting thing to do while visiting the “entertainment capital of the world.”
